Estes Cocke
General Counsel

Estes Cocke has been a licensed attorney since 1974 and was in general practice from 1974 to 1999, when he joined ERMC. Since that time his oversight responsibilities have included Legal, Risk Management, Insurance, Human Resources, Safety and Licensing.

Mr. Cocke is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A. 1968) and the University of Tennessee Law School (J.D. 1973). While in law school he was a research assitant to the Dean of the Law School and was on the Law Review. He is admitted before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and all Tennessee state courts. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Chattanooga Bar Association.

Locally, he has served as Treasurer of one of Chattanooga’s commissioners for 18 years and has been asked to serve as a temporary Judge.
